The Problem

A 1,200-foot rural driveway had deteriorated over several years of erosion and heavy-rain washout. Material had migrated to the edges, deep ruts had formed down the centerline, and the low point in the driveway held standing water after every storm. The base under the low section had softened and was failing.

The Solution

We regraded the full length of the driveway to re-establish proper crown and drainage slope. Sub-base material was compacted and fresh limerock was applied and graded the full length, bringing the driveway back to a firm, draining surface.

The Problem

A hunting property owner in Raiford wanted a clean shooting lane cut through a row of mature pines on his property. The pines had grown tall enough to block sightlines entirely. The customer needed a clear, straight lane cut through without disturbing the standing timber on either side.

The Solution

We cut the designated row of pines to the customer's staked line, removed stumps flush with ground level, cleared all brush and downed material from the lane, and finish-graded the floor of the lane level and clean. The surrounding timber was left standing on both sides. Completed in one day.

The Problem

A 20-acre property in Raiford had dense brush and scrub growth throughout with no existing trail access. The owners wanted ATV trails and walking paths cut throughout the property to allow access to the back acreage and give them a way to enjoy the land. The brush was thick — typical North Florida scrub with palmetto, hardwood brush, and scattered pines.

The Solution

JGH cut a network of trails throughout the 20-acre property to the customer's planned route. Trail widths were maintained at 10–12 feet to allow ATV and foot access throughout. Brush was pushed off trail edges and back into the woods. Major trees were worked around or removed where the trail line required. The full trail network was completed on schedule.

The Problem

A Lake Butler property owner had mature pine and hardwood timber that had grown so thick the understory was completely choked off. They couldn't see wildlife moving through the woods, couldn't walk the property comfortably, and the undergrowth was becoming a fire risk. They wanted to open the woods up without taking the standing timber down.

The Solution

JGH selectively cleared the understory and mid-canopy brush throughout the property, clearing the standing pines and hardwoods without disturbing the mature oaks. The result was beautiful.

The Problem

A 600-foot shared access road in Keystone Heights had been slowly failing for years. Sandy Clay County soil had swallowed the original shell base. The road had deep ruts in the tire tracks, a washed-out crossing at a low spot in the middle, and the culvert at the drainage crossing had crushed and partially collapsed, backing water up across the road after every rain.

The Solution

We removed the failed culvert, excavated the crossing, and installed a new correctly-sized culvert with proper headwall support. The road centerline was regraded to re-establish crown and drainage slope toward the culvert. Shell base material was brought in and graded the full 600 feet. The road was restored to a firm, passable two-lane surface able to handle daily traffic year-round.
