Land clearing is the removal of trees, brush, and stumps so a property is ready for what's next — a homesite, pasture, driveway, or hunting setup. Full clearing for new construction — trees pushed, stumps out, roots raked, debris handled. The lot is left build-ready for the pad, well, and septic that come next.
Brush and small timber ground in place into a clean mulch layer. No burn piles, no haul-off, less soil disturbance — the most economical way to open up overgrown acreage.
Stumps ground below grade for mowable ground, or dug and removed entirely where a pad, driveway, or foundation is going in. Standalone stump visits welcome.
Overgrown fence lines, pasture reclaim, and straight, clean shooting lanes cut through pine and hardwood on hunting properties across Bradford, Union, and Clay County.
Most land clearing here runs $2,000 to $5,000 per acre. Light brush that can be mulched in place sits at the low end; dense pine with full stump removal and haul-off sits at the high end. Three things move the number:
An acre of palmetto and scattered pine clears much faster than an acre of mature timber. Bigger trees mean bigger stumps, more material, and more machine hours.
Forestry mulching leaves ground cover and costs less. If the ground needs to be build-ready — pad, driveway, pasture — stumps and roots have to come out, which adds time and cost.
Tight access, wet ground, and debris that has to leave the property all add hours. Jobs where material can be mulched or piled on-site stay cheaper.
